Prof. V.N. Wanchoo
(1920-1991)

Prof. V.N. Wanchoo started his career in early forties as a Lecturer in Physics at Kasmir and later at Delhi.

Then he joined the National Council of Education Reaseach and Training and was Department of Science Education chair for several years in between he joined Delhi Adminstartion as Additional Director of Education in 1968 and initiated a number of reforms in acaedmic practices in Delhi schools. In early seventies he was appointed Principal, Regional College ofEducation. Ajmer and the Dean, Faculity Of Education, University of Rajasthan. He founded the All India Science Teachers Association and served its president for 12 years.

Prof. V.N. Wanchoo participated in a number of International and Asian Regional Conferences on Science Education held in Canada, Beligum, Holland, Philippines and singapore to help define the needs of education in India, to bring it from an Agrarian society to the Industrial Scociety.

Prof. V.N. Wanchoo life was devoted to the upliftment of educational system in India and bring at par with the advanced countries. He believed in integrating formal education with personal development by exposing each student to basic arts and sciences. Therefore the emphasis of this Wanchoo- Paliwal Manav Vikas Kendra will be in education students in Sanskrit,vedas, yoga, music, Population Control, Moral scirence and Vocational Studies etc. for developing a student into a highly successful citizen.
